Hi Alex
I have a problem which I think is due to my configuration.
I added {JFBCLogin} to my login module and when you try to login with facebook it fails after about 10 to 15 seconds with this message "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."
My site runs under https and maybe there is a clash somewhere. I have removed {JFBCLogin} from my module but moved it to a page that is not read very often for testing. goo.gl/46URq
I'm using Joomsef for friendly URL's
Any suggestions for things to try Alex?
Thank you

David J

David,
Joomsef definitely looks to be destroying our URLs. I don't know Joomsef very well, but usually, 3rd party SEF extensions have options to 'skip' certain components. If you can find that setting, please have it skip JFBConnect. We have very specific URL requirements for communicating on your site and with Facebook, and if they get changed too much, bad things happen.

If you can't find the setting that makes it work, just let us know, and we can do a little more research.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex
Yes that was the problem. Thank you again.
In Joomsef, all components that do not have a joomsef sef extension installed are set to use the joomla default handler which I assume attempts some sort of sef URL. I set this to 'DO NOT SEF' and everything is now working correctly.
Thanks again

I know this thread is marked solved by I am getting the same error message as the OP. I am using Sh404SEF component for my SEF and I already know that it is the culprit because when I turn it off, JFBConnect functions properly. Unfortunately, I must use this exact component because it plays well with my vehicle listing component.

I looked for a option to "Skip" the JFBConnect, but I haven't seen one. Maybe you have a solution?

Thanks

Mis-posted here before.

Brandon,
For the "skip" setting in sh404SEF, you can find it by going to Configuration -> sh404SEF Configuration, and then the "By Component" tab. Set the first column to "Skip" for the JFBConnect component.

Hope that helps,
Alex

If I could insert the little embarrassed emoticon here I would. I was looking under Sh404Sef>extensions configuration. Thanks again for the help!

No problem, Brandon. Joomla and each extension within it can be very confusing. That's why we have a great support area :)

Glad we could help, and should you need anything else, just let us know!
