You're right. Didn't realize we hadn't done any documentation for it. We'll have something up this weekend, but in the meantime, that extension can be installed on sites where JomSocial is also installed. When the plugin is enabled, when a user updates their status in JomSocial, it will push that status to their Facebook wall as well.

Hope that explains, but if you need any more info, just let us know.. and sorry about that!

Super :) Thats what I thought too. Is it a feature the user easily can change? Or is it a thing that only the admin can control?

No, it's not user-controllable. However, we do respect the privacy settings for the user, so if it's public, we will post it to Facebook. If there's any privacy setting on the post (available in JomSocial 2.2+), we will not post it to their wall.

Hope that explains, and good luck!

I have a question about the wall if I can butt in here while your on the subject. I was asked if two people are having a discussion on my JomSocial site, both are Facebook users and one does not want the discussion posted to their wall on FB but the other doesn't care, what happens? Do they both get posted anyway? Sorry if its a rookie question, but I am a rookie. My site is almost set up though!

Don,
It's only an admin configurable setting as to whether it would get posted. Our logic for that is simply, it's your site, and so generally, you'll know the types of topics your users will be posting publicly, and if they would want those pushed back to Facebook.

We do respect the Privacy settings of JomSocial 2.2+, so only if a user marks a message/status update a public will it get posted to Facebook. In this case, again, our logic is simply "it's public anyways, so Google, or anyone else could easily find that post". So, it's up to you as admin to decide if these public posts get automatically pushed back to Facebook, and that really depends on your site's nature.

Your user's have an additional mechanism to stop posts going back by not granting the "Status Update Permission" for your site to post to their wall. If it's set as required though, it means that they won't be able to login via Facebook, but again, that's their choice.

Hope that helps explain everything,
Alex
