Hi,

The sites I have JFBConnect installed on are tied to Facebook primarily through Fan or Organization pages and not personal FB pages. While I love the versatility of the JFBConnect extension, I would love the ability to Send a link to any of the Pages I manage instead of only to my Wall. On CNN.com I noticed that the Share widget is inside a popup. Would there be a way to successfully implement something like that using the content plugin?

Thanks!

NLM,
We're investigating a few different ways to push content from your site to your Page (instead of Wall), and are hoping to have something available over the next few months. Until then, there aren't any great suggestions for what you're looking for right now. In general, more 'pushed' content from your site to Facebook is starting to become the next 'most requested feature' for us.

I just checked out CNN and they're using the Share widget from Facebook which has technically been deprecated, so we don't really support it. The Like button has similar functionality (where you as the admin have control over the description and image that posts in someones wall) and the Send button allows you to target specific users. If there's something specific you liked about the Share widget that the others don't have, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Just a small addition to this, a few things that help me send content/likes to Facebook.

You can set the like to point to a fB page if you use it as a custom tag so
{JFBCLike url=http://www.facebook.com/yourbusinesspage}

Also when viewing a page on your website if you click on Posting As (Change to as your page) and make a comment it will also be sent to the wall.

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks Rich. Excellent points. I always explain that the Like button is for 'your site', but yes, the url parameter can actually point anywhere. Same with the "Post As" setting in Facebook. Great ways to get your own comments to your Wall, but still not a way to get other people's comments to post there automatically.

Thanks again,
Alex

Yeah can't do it automagically....but since that comment is shown both on the wall and the page, if people comment on that post then it will be in both places (Nested) So when using that strategy it's normally best to create a good post that encourages comments.
