Hello,

I was testing out JomSocial today, but decided to uninstall it (which is very difficulty). One problem was that it disabled the JFBConnect login. After installing I couldn't get the button working again. So I re-installed JFBConnect. Still no success. So, I rolled the DB and files back to yesterday, when JFBConnect was working and it still won't work! I'm stumped.

It seems like it may be a Javascript issue. It's not working in Safari or Firefox on Mac. Using most recent version of JFBConnect on Joomla 1.5. The URL is www.agitado.net.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I realized my message may not be very clear. At this point the site and DB have been rolled back to a time after the first JFBConnect install, but before JomSocial was ever installed. After that rollback the button for JFBConnect still did not work, so JFBConnect was uninstalled then re-installed. But the button still isn't working. Sorry for any confusion!

Andrew,
Sorry for the delayed response. The issue looks to be coming from the use of the Share Me Compact Pro Button. That like button is re-including the Facebook Javascript library, which is confusing Facebook because it's seeing 2 things on your site trying to communicate with it. As an immediate step, we'd recommend just trying to disable that extension (for now), and test. If it works, then either you can replace the Like portion of that extension with our Like button (we can help if you need it), or you can modify their extension to remove the inclusion of the Javascript script tags loading the all.js file from Facebook.

As always, we can help with anything you need if the above isn't clear. Just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alzander,

No problem -- I saw that you were away for a while. Your support is the best I ever encounter among extension developers, so I have no complaints! I think I previously reviewed the component in the Joomla Extensions Directory, but if I not I will be sure to do so.

I disable the other like button and your login button resume working. I will circle back later and figure out the best way to include the Like button.

Thanks!
Andrew

Andrew,
Thanks for the compliments.. Definitely appreciate it!

For adding the Like button, you should just need to add {JFBCLike} to the existing module you're using, in your template, or even in a Custom HTML module that's right next to the module you're using. If you choose the latter, you may just want to use our JFBCLike module which doesn't make you learn our {} tags.

With all that said, we agree, it's inconvenient, and want to spread out the social networks and sharing abilities we have.. but for now, that's the best solution.

Hope that helps,
Alex
