Topic-icon Notification Not Notifying & Image= on graph not saving

I dropped in the following code {jfbccomments width=715 num_posts=5 colorScheme=light key=} into our site, and it works.

Please see link at:
www.induguia.com/inicio/seguridad-electr...on-controls-usa.html

HOWEVER:

1. The image set on Open Graph is not saving to facebook walls.
image=http://www.induguia.com/images/logo_black_ind.jpg, and

2. Notifications on new comments is not mailing

In our other sites where jfbc extension is set to j-content, both image and notification work fine, but when it's dropped into code, it doesn't. Are you aware of this? Is there a work around?

Finally, please note that sometime the code {jfbccomments} loads correctly, sometimes not. I have tested on all recent vers. of FF, IE, Chrome.

Thanks,

When I look at the page you linked to, I'm not seeing the Facebook Javascript API file, which JFBConnect relies on, being included in the page anywhere. There should be a reference to all.js somewhere on the page.

Can you try disabling any caching and minification options you have enabled? I see CssJsCompress is loaded, so please try disabling that. Also, disable caching in Global Configuration and the System - Cache plugin if enabled. Also, make sure the JFBConnect - System plugin is installed. Finally, you may want to re-order the JFBConnect System plugin to be the first to fire.

While none of these should be a problem, testing those settings may help narrow down the issue. All of the things you mention revolve around the same problem, which is that the code our JFBConnect System plugin tries to insert on the page isn't being properly inserted. Once we figure that out, you should be good to go.

Thanks,
Alex

The rub is that sometimes the js loads and sometimes not?

Please see screenshot where the {jfbccomment} load correctly on the above url.

I will review the plugins per your suggestion and advise.

Yes, it's actually that it looks like our JFBConnect System plugin isn't firing on all pages. Again, I'd start with turning off all caching and checking the ordering of the plugins. Let us know if any of that helps, and we can go from there.

I just went to the page that you linked to above, and am now seeing the {JFBComments...} tag, which heavily points toward a caching issue and the JFBConnect System plugin not being triggered properly.

Thanks Alex,

Yes, I changed the order of the plug-ins, put JFBC first and voila, it works consistently!

Still not seeing any notifications coming thru via email?

HOWEVER.... now, I've noticed something else... I have a problem with IE7. [Is that a surprise?] Nothing with FF and Chrome.

www.induguia.com/inicio/seguridad-electr....-seguridad-usa.html

Can you please confirm that this is a IE problem per se. You will that when NOT logged in, the Comment With option, is hidden. And furthermore when you do go to log-in, IE gives you lots of funny messages and fb page crashes.
I have checked with newer versions of IE and everything is fine.

Miamiman,
Sorry for the delayed response. We're looking into another user who's reporting that they aren't getting the notification emails. We'll let you know what we find there, but if you'd like to private message us admin credentials for your site, we can try to investigate further what's preventing the notification emails from being sent.

Thanks,
Alex

Miamiman,
We just looked into the other users issue with notification emails. You can read the full post below, but the current solution that worked for us on their site was to change the Joomla Global Configuration setting for the mailer from Sendmail to PHPMailer. If your mailer is set to Sendmail, you may want to try the same configuration change.

Let us know if this helps, and good luck,
Alex

Yes, it works. I changed from Smtp Server to Phpmail and the notifications started to come thru.

That's nonetheless strange, because on other sites, where it is configured for Smtp, the notifications works correctly.

Not sure why it would work with one and not the other. Have you been getting other emails when it was set to SMTP server, like the normal new user registration emails?

If you need SMTP to be enabled, definitely let us know (and why, if you don't mind), and we'll look into if there's a specific issue with how we're sending that email.

Thanks for the feedback, and good luck,
Alex
