OpenGraph problems was created by dmtalvdal
I am running JFBConnect for Joomla 1.5 (.23), with Teline4 template from Joomlart and sh404SEF component.
When I am posting links to my site in my Facebook profile, it seems that the metatags for article in not included. Is this a bug?
I have enabled OpenGraph, and it seems that everything else works fine - but not metadescription.
The URL are: www.alvdalmiv.no

Using the Linter tools, your page descriptions are properly set up. Facebook re-scans pages every 24-72 hours to look for updated meta tags, and that may just be the issue. Alternatively, the Linter tool forces the rescan when you use it:
developers.facebook.com/tools/lint?url=h...-st-hans-minner.html

Hope that helps, but if that still isn't working for you, let us know,
Alex

Thanks for quick reply, but why isn't "og:type" included as default?
And any idea how to add this. It seems that the defaults under "Open Graph" in the component is emtpy

No problem for the quick reply, it's what we do :)

As for the type attribute, we'll be adding an automatic value of "website" in the next release. You can always override our automatic value by setting a default in the Open Graph tag (which will apply to all pages) or using the {JFBCGraph type=xxxx} tag on any individual pages you want it set differently. To use the defaults, in that big box, simply add:
type=movie (or website, or whatever)

JFBConnect will set whatever defaults you add their to every page, but again, each page can override the defaults using the {JFBCGraph key=value} tags.

If you need more information, just let us know, but hopefully, this gets you going,
Alex

It seems that the meta description of the pages is not working when we share a link in our Facebook profile. When I click on "like" button, it works fine.

Is this a bug? Or misconfiguration?

Not sure. Can you paste one of the pages you're seeing this issue on, so we can test? Even if it's all pages, give us one that you want us to test with so we're both looking at the same thing.

Thanks,
Alex

How can I prevent this?
It seems that the meta description is not available when sharing links in Facebook, just after I have created a new article. But If I wait for a few hours (after Facebook have rescanned the site), the metadescriptions shows.

I'm not sure what you want to prevent.. Facebook scanning at all, or you want to increase the scan frequency. Either way, there's no way to control either. Facebook will scan your site as it pleases (just like Google will scan your site when it feels like it).

However, you can force the scan of your page using the linter tool. If you absolutely must have Facebook see the most up-to-date information, you can manually scan your pages with the Linter whenever you create new content. That's the only solution that we know of.

Hope that helps,
Alex
