Jcomments was created by fb_1446675136
I have been using Jcomments or a while and would like to use FBC but is there a way to intergrate Jcomments with it, I would hate to lose all those years of comments.

Unfortunately, Facebook does not have any way to migrate comments from a previous system into theirs. They want to make sure all comments are entered by real users (and not fake), so they simply don't allow migration.

You can always use both on the same page, and disable 'new' comments in the Jcomments. Then, all new comments have to go through Facebook, and you can eventually choose (or not) to remove JComments altogether.

Hope that helps with some ideas, but if you have other questions, just let us know!

Not right now. Facebook is starting to open up new APIs that we can use to get information about posts on a page.. not so much across a site yet, but we think that's coming.

Features like you mention are on our plate to implement in JFBConnect, but we have no timeline for them yet. Currently, the primary benefit of Facebook comments is the ease of use, since most users have Facebook accounts, the ease of registration on your site, and the posting back to their FB wall on comment to get other users to see your page, which is a huge benefit.

Kishan,
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for when you say "without linking it with anything". If you could describe, we might be able to help further. However, we prioritize requests, especially investigative ones like you're asking, for active subscribers. Since you don't, or never have it seems, a subscription, we don't know what extensions your using, what versions, or anything like that.

If you want more support, please consider subscribing.

Thanks,
Alex

Kishan,
I really don't know how to do that off the top of my head, or if it's really possible. It'd be something we need to research, and determine if it's possible site-wide or per-page.

Let us know when you subscribe, it's something we can try to look into further then.

Thanks,
Alex
