Alex,
Sorry you're running into issues. I normally don't just cut 'n paste other posts, but a similar question was asked just a few minutes ago. Try checking out that thread below:
www.sourcecoast.com/forums/topic?id=2134#p9826

In addition to the thoughts there, since you mention it doesn't work on registration either, check to make sure that you've enabled the "Enable Status Updates:" option in the Post To Wall configuration area and, not required but recommended, that you require the Status Update permission option which can be found in the permissions tab.

Hopefully, one of these suggestions will work for you. If not, please post your URL and we'll see if we can diagnose the problem from looking at the page.. which many times we can.

Thanks!

I'm afraid to say - but I tested all ideas (changing login message, disabling auto login.........) and it still doesn't work.
will send you a pm with my site details.

update:
perhaps this helps some people. After deleting the link to the picture now everthing is working...
well - it is strange, but it's now showing the message ;-)

Well that is pretty strange. We haven't gotten into your site yet.. will tomorrow if still necessary.. Can you check a few things:
1) The image is reachable without any redirects or any other obstacles to view it. If Facebook can't 'see' it, they won't post it (or I guess the rest of the message) to the user's wall.
2) Check that on the page URL that you're linking to if there's a different Open Graph image tag in the header (og:image). While this shouldn't conflict, it's possible that's part of the problem. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it :)
2) Try another image

Nice debugging work, and if you find anything else, definitely let us know!

Alex,
Thanks for the feedback. There's another user who's reporting that their image doesn't work in the thread below. When you changed the image path, was there something wrong with the previous one, or was it something else? Just curious if we should update our instructions as well on how to use the image link.

Thanks!

well,
first my image was located at a sub/sub/sub folder. perhaps the url was too long or a permission not set correctly.
Now I put it to the joomla root and everything is working fine.

Hmm. There is a limit to the length of the URL, but I can't imagine you hit it.. it's something like more than 150 chars. It's possible that a weird (bad) word was in a folder, or Facebook just thought it looked suspect and didn't want to post it. Thanks for the tip though, we'll remember this in the future should anyone else have similar issues.

I've been out of town in the last few days.
Many thanks to Remington for the tip. I'll test it in the next few days.
In the meantime I've deleted image path.
