im testing different registration possibilities.

i saw the "Show Non-Mapped Required Fields" but im not sure i understand fully how it should work. how does it work exactly? what happens when one clicks the FB login button (im using CB)?

ive been experimenting with it, but i cant get it to work - no joomla/CB account is created (access permission is sent to FB, the application is added to the FB profile).

ive set in the JFBConnect config "User Creation" to "Full Joomla User", in the global config of joomla "allow user registration", in CB ive set registration to "same as global".it used to work when i created a joomla pseudo user and all data was imported correctly.

The "Show Required Fields" setting will show any fields in Community Builder that are published, marked as "profile" fields, and required that have not been assigned a field from Facebook in JFBConnect.

It only works with Full Joomla Users. When the user tries to register, the registration page should look like:

If you're not seeing these fields, check that some are set to required that aren't being imported to from JFBConnect. If that isn't working, let us know!

the screenshot looks like what i would need. unfortunately, i cant get it to work.

when the non-registered user clicks the FB login button, the FB window comes up, but then nothing happens. no page like in the screenshot above, no joomla/CB account is created and the user is not logged in.

when the non-registered user clicks the "register" link, all CB fields are showing up.

jfbc settings are "full joomla user", "show required fields" to yes. dont know if this is relevant, but in cb config im having "Name Style" first and last name, and "name format" name only.

there is at least one CB field (cb_rabattpin) which is not mapped via jfbc and marked as "required, "profile" and "registration".

you can check it at: vodes.net.

Markus, can you delete my user account from your site so I can try to go through the registration process again? My Joomla user's name should be Alex Sourcecoast.

Thanks. We'll figure out what's wrong.. hopefully, it's a configuration issue, but if we screwed something up, we'll fix it :)

hello Alex,

i found the problem - the sef component was causing it (im experimenting now with ARTIO Joom SEF). when i turn it off for JFBConnect it works. :)

cheers

ive been experimenting with it.

1) skip activation

ive set "skip activation" in JFCB and CB, but this doesnt work and the user needs to be activated. a while ago i was checking out your site essentials and read a forum posting that there is an issue with CB1.4 and skipping activation.

2) i noticed in the "Welcome" heading of the registration page the correct FB first name appears, but the all fields (username, email in particular) are blank and not filled in like on the screenshot.

3) dont know if 1) and/or 2) has something to do with it, but no FB data (other than name and email) is imported.

ive deleted your account. in case u want backend access let me know

cheers

1) There shouldn't be an issue with skipping activation in CB1.4, but we'll re-test and make sure we're not missing something. Are you getting the CB Activation email, or is the user simply marked as not activated in the admin area?

2) The fields in that screen shot were filled in by the user. We don't automatically generate a username or password for the user. They have to set them during the registration process. The only field we fill out is 'email', and that may or may not be shown (depending on your JFBC configuration).

3) That actually says a lot. Can you check that you don't have any user plugins that may be redirecting the user after an initial registration (or trying to log them in). If something prevents the full registration process to complete in JFBC (which a redirect would do), that could be the cause of your problem(s) above.

If you want to send credentials, feel free to PM them to me, and I should be able to get in tomorrow.

hello Alex,

1) yes, the user is getting the "pending approval" message.
2) ive set the email field to show up on the registration page, but its not filled in either.
3) the only re-direct i can think of is set to the "welcome" screen (in JFBC settings).

dont know if this has something to do with it, but ive associated the mapped cb_fields to other cb_tabs (also changed its order) and renamed those tabs (not the cb_fields).

as for 2), the email shows up now. initially, the email showed up, but it was the email field from CB (in jfbc the setting was "hide email"). so that worked as it should. in this respect, what is the reason why the username is not filled in with the name of the fb user? any letter that the customer needs to type makes a good impression.

i did some testing on another site and there the automatic activation works, so its defenitely a configuration issue on my side (most likely due to the extensive testing).
unless other people make similar postings here, im sure youre time is better spend on further developing this treasure :) but i appreciate the offer.

if i figure out what the problem was, ill post it here.

cheers

Markus,
Not sure if you figured it out or not, but I just registered on your site and was automatically let in. Additionally, the zip code field appears filled out in my profile.

Hopefully, this means everything's working, but if you're still running into issues, let us know!
