I have this program installed on my site and had a few questions regarding the recent change in the facebook friends plugin and the live feeds. The facebook friends configuration used to show a small thumbnail of the people who signed up for the site using facebook and its no longer doing that. Also, the feeds or the comment to facebook tab, is it possible that when you post something to facebook through your component that any replies be redirected back to the jomsocial site? I made a post about a recent ball game using the plugin on my jomsocial site and any responses that were made didnt feed back to jomsocial, i had to go to facebook to retrieve those messages. Is it possible to do this and if so, can you forward or refer a documentation page that explains how.

Kevin

Kevin,
We tried out the JFBCFriends module on our demo site below, and it seems to be working normally for us. Can you send your URL of the page you have the JFBCFriends module published on, so we can check out the code and see what might be going on?

As for comments, there's not a current way to have comments post back to your site. We're doing a large investigating into comments and other ways to create a better integration between Facebook and our user's sites, but don't have anything to announce yet. We hope we can accomplish what you're asking for in an upcoming release, but not sure how possible it is.. Facebook, just like you, wants people to stay on their page.

In general, one of the things we're looking at creating is a comments administrator, which will let you see and notify you of new comments. We should be able to pull these comments into JomSocial or other 3rd party Joomla commenting systems, but it will be a slow roll out to get everything you're probably looking implemented.

Hope that helps, and let us know about the Friend module.. would love to help that get up and running for ya!

Kevin,
Can you please post the URL. I can see the in the image you attached what's happening. That usually happens when Facebook is a) confused about the user that's logged in or b) unable to detect your application ID. Hopefully that helps, but if you can send the URL, we can help narrow it down more if you'd like. If you want to Private Message it to us (so it's not public), we understand. Just click the arrow under my name (<----) and click the mail icon.

We'll help you out.

Kevin,
When I go to your Facebook App page, which can be found by going to:
www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=XXX
Where XXX is your application ID (I don't want to post it here because you don't seem to want the site public, which is understandable).

In here, when I click "Go To App", it takes me to your Facebook Fan Page, not to your actual site URL. Normally, when using Facebook Connect, in the application settings, you need to set the Site URL and Base Domain for the actual site you want this on. This shouldn't be your Fan Page. You can see this by going to our application and seeing that the "Go To App" link goes to our home page on this site:
www.sourcecoast.com/extensions/jfbconnec...ration-guide?start=1

Thanks, and good luck!
www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=116488908376294

My guess is that's what's happening with your site. Since the Application is pointing to a different URL, some of the widgets aren't working. Please try updating your Site and Base URLs according to the configuration guide below and see if that helps your situation. If not, please check the other recommended settings in the guide as well:

I'm having exactly the same problem, though the site and friend plugin used to work normally couple of weeks ago (last time I did check). On FB side nothing has been changed, so I'm wondering what's happening.
You can check by pointing at www.aloysiusdance.com
Many thanks.

Alessandro,
Just wanted to give you an update that we are looking into this. I just registered on your site to see what was happening, and no real answers yet. With 2 reports of this, it obviously pops it higher on our priority list.

Kevin, let us know if you've found anything, or if my suggestion helps your situation.

Thanks, and we'll let you know what we find.

Oh! Alessandro, I forgot to mention, we noticed you were using incorrect affiliate links in your modules. Where we ask for the ID, you should just be entering your affiliate number (which looks to be 121), not the full URL. You should update that in the modules and component to make sure you get credit for any referrals you send.

Thanks!
