Greetings,
I have a question about the fields in the profiles tab of the component backend. When I goto this page it list 9 basic JomSocial Field's. However On the Facebook column (in the drop downs) I see that there are a bunch of fields that can be pulled from Facebook into JomSocial. I added some fields to JomSocial and then went to the JFBC backend, but they where not added. I am wondering if I am missing a step or if it is even possible? Is this limited to 9 fields for importing information?

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

We don't limit the amount of fields that you can import. However, we do limit the types of fields you can import into. Right now, you can import into Text, Textarea and date fields in JomSocial. We'll be adding URL fields in the next release.

The reason we limit to these fields is because the majority of Facebook fields are pretty much free-form text. If you tried to import this into a Radio or Select box, it would work.. but then everyone on your site would have different information, you wouldn't be able to search across fields, and other issues. We are always looking at adding more types of fields, but it's tough to do because we already know the problems and confusion it can cause with some of our users.

Hopefully, that helps explain the situation, and if there's anything specific you need, let us know. It always helps us to have usage cases to go by (and we may be able to just say "Do this" to get you going now).

Thanks!
