Hi guys. Thanks for a great extension. I'm experiencing issues getting the 'login with facebook' button working within a iframe popup. It looks to be a similar issue to a thread on this forum. www.sourcecoast.com/forums/topic?id=1718

Id appreciate any help you can offer. My website is at www.davespicermusic.com/somov3

Thanks in advance!
Dave

Dave,
Help is no problem. Unfortunately, you've got us a little stumped there. First off, though the login box is being loaded in a pop-up, it's not being done through an iFrame, so don't follow any of the instructions in the post you linked. I can see where the similarities lie though.

With that said though, I don't know what's 'wrong'. I see the button, but when I click it, nothing happens (assuming that's what happens to you). There are no Javascript errors, everything seems to be loading correct, and everything 'looks' good.. just nothing. Can you try putting the JFBCLogin into a module that isn't in the pop-up and see if it works there? That may help us narrow down the problem.

Finally, and unrelated, but you'll want to disable JomSocial's Facebook integration. There shouldn't be 2 things trying to manage FB Connect, or you'll run into issues. To disabled, just remove the API/Secret keys from the JS configuration area.

Please let us know if the above test with a standalone module works, as we're curious as to what's going wrong. Sorry for the troubles, but we'll get you fixed up!

Thanks Alex.

I've taken the module from the login position (pop-up) and moved it onto the top of the home page and as suspected it works fine and I can log in through facebook. The issue is getting it to work from within the popup. Any ideas how to progress from here? - I'll move the module position back to the popup for now.

Thanks for the extra advice regarding disabling the jom social facebook integration. I've done that now also.

Dave,
Just wanted to get you a quick update so you didn't think we're ignoring you.. we're implementing RokBox on one of our dev sites and going to be trying to recreate and diagnose the problem you're having later today. With luck, it will just be a 'do this' type fix and you should be good to go. We'll keep you posted, but no great news yet.

Thanks for your patience, and we'll get you fixed up soon!

Dave,
We've done some testing and diagnosis on our development system, but have been unable to recreate the problem right now. We updated our RocketTheme subscription just to get the template your using and the most recent version of RokBox too.

The next step is for us to try and contact RocketTheme. We know a few people there, but not sure how long this is going to take. Their extensions and Javascript are pretty complex, so we don't want to mess with it directly, and unfortunately, I don't know if we'll be able to fix this on our end. For now, though it might not be what you're looking for, I'd recommend not using the pop-up for login. Other possibilities are to use the menu item to redirect the user to a page that just has the JFBCLogin module published on it. That will mean that you won't have to put the module on ever page in a column, which keeps it out of the way, but I understand that's not what you want for now.

Keep us posted if you see anything. You can also try posting about this in the RocketTheme forums to see if they may have a quicker answer.

Sorry for the troubles, and best of luck to you.

Thanks Alex. You've gone above and beyond.

I have posted messages on the rockettheme forum and no one is responding. I assume its gone in the 'too hard basket'. I guess I'll remove the popup. Real shame as I think it looks very classy. Oh well.

Thanks again!

We'll keep investigating. Like I said, I know a developer at RT, but I just can't guarantee when I get his ear.

No problem about going above and beyond.. I'd like to get this solved too.. even though it's not really our extension (I think) causing the problem, it's not good that you can't use it how you want.

Good luck, and keep us posted on how things go!
