Good morning,

Yesterday afternoon I purchased the JFBConnect package and installed it on a site (ggga.com). I went through the configuration pages here and completed that process.

I was called away and needed to finish today. However, I'm not able to logon to the site through the Joomla administrator page ... now I'm getting a "username and password do not match error" - the first time I've ever seen anything like this.

Thanks for any help and assistance.

Regards,

Matthew

Can you log in using that super administrator (or any) Joomla account on the front end? JFBConnect does not allow anyone to login (through Facebook) in the admin area. We let the site rely upon bog-standard Joomla accounts for that, so there really shouldn't be anything we're doing to prevent it.

Is it possible that you disabled the Joomla Authentication plugin? Not the one for JFBConnect, but for Joomla in general? If so, then you'd need to access the database and re-publish that plugin.

Hope this helps narrow the issue down.. if not, let us know and we'll do what we can!

Thanks for your quick response!

I can't logon with any user.

Did I disable the Joomla Authentication plugin? I don't think so, but I suppose I could have fat-fingered something while enabling the other plugins yesterday.

As far as getting into the database and re-publishing a plugin ... are you talking about the MySQL database for the site? If so, I'm a neophyte for things like that. Any help you could give in that area that would help me check this out would be greatly appreciated.

Matthew

Thanks for your tip. I did exactly that.

Quick search on the Joomla forums and they listed the SQL command to get the authenticator back up and running.

Now to finish the Facebook stuff!

Glad to hear you got it going. I was on the road today when I typed that first message from my phone. Would have been hard to get you the SQL query then, so good job on the sleuthing to find the right query.

Hope all is going well still, and if you need anything else, let us know!

Were you on 3.0.2 before 3.0.3 without any issues? The change in 3.0.3 is extremely minor, and doesn't affect anything with registration or logging in, only with avatar importing after you do this.

If the page isn't loading at all, that's a different issue than the above, which was caused by the Joomla authentication plugin not being enabled. On the admin side, we intentionally don't include the Facebook javascript libraries or anything like that, so there really shouldn't be any relation between your Facebook login status vs your admin area.

Keep us posted if you have any more information or causes, and we'll poke around on our end to see if we can recreate the issue.

Thanks

That's very strange. JFBConnect should not be trying to run in the admin area. We'll look into our code to see if there's some path that might be trying to be called. However, we can't reporduce the issue so far.

I know you've sent it before, but can you post (or PM) your URL so we can look at the code on the admin page. The Facebook javascript code shouldn't be inserted there (the file is all.js).

We'll keep looking and let you know if we find anything, and you post as well.
