Problem with avatar importing

We have a fix coming shortly. Facebook changed how their server sends images, which broke the functionality we've had working for many months. If you'd like to make the extremely minor change to fix this on your own, you can do the following:

Modify the /components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/profile.php. Change line 160 from '1.1' to '1.0', like below:
$out = "GET $path HTTP/1.0\r\n";

That's it. Annoying problem, but easy fix.

Again, we'll be releasing 3.0.3 later today (and sending an email to all users to let them know of the update). This will be the only fix in this release. Later this month (or early next month), we'll have v3.1 ready with many more changes and improvements.

Never heard of an 'old' avatar importing. Could you possibly have some other Facebook integration component or functionality enabled? Is it possible that your avatar is simply not being updated and being left at whatever was there before?

Great to hear it! Sorry for the inconvenience. We just sent out an email about 3.0.3. There are no other changes in this release, so don't feel that you need to install it. Doesn't hurt to do it though either.

We'd honestly just recommend upgrading to 3.0.3 so that you get the bugfixes and other improvements in 3.0.1 and 3.0.2.

3.0.0 actually used a different method for fetching the avatar from Facebook. We haven't check if this experiences the same failure to download issue as the 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 versions do. I'm assuming you're running into this problem with that version as well?

If so, let us know. If you really don't want to upgrade to the latest, we can provide you with a code change that will make that one section use the same code to download as the newest releases.
