Hello again.

This might be related to my earlier switching from Community Builder to JomSocial, I'm not sure. In any case, now that I've got JFBConnect integrated with JomSocial, I get this error when selecting "Edit Details" on my JomSocial profile page (.../index.php?option=com_community&view=profile&task=editDetails&Itemid=57):

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class FacebookApiException in /home2/shaggyd1/public_html/administrator/components/com_jfbconnect/assets/facebook-api/facebook.php on line 70

Help, please? Thanks!

You'll need to make sure JomSocial's Facebook features are disabled. They don't work together. If they are disabled, then it's probably another extension trying to use Facebook's API's. Our next release will also rename the Facebook libraries to prevent this type of incompatibility.

Hope this helps, though it's a little vague. It's tough to know where the conflict is coming from with the information you provide. We'll be having the next 3.0 release up this week.

JomSocial is the only other component that I've installed which has a Facebook integration. I was indeed trying out the feature in JomSocial before and did not like their implementation of it. I have since gone with your extension, as I like it better.

The problem is, there is no "turn on" or "turn off" option for this Facebook Connect feature in JomSocial. It has fields for Facebook API Key and App Secret which you fill in to activate it. I've since cleared these fields and they are empty, but it still seems to think I want to use the feature.

I'm using version 3.0RC1 of JFBConnect and still have this incompatibility problem. Is the renaming of the FB libraries you mention implemented in Release Candidate 2?

Thanks again for a great product and your excellent support! I'll write up a review on JED shortly, I promise.

I'm glad you mentioned you're using RC1. The renaming of the libraries for JFBConnect took place in RC2, so upgrading to that should fix your issues. Alternatively, JomSocial 1.8.3 (pretty sure on that) was when they changed their library names as well to prevent issues. For JomSocial, yes, you simply want to remove your API/Secret keys. They still load up some Facebook functionality, which I wish they didn't do, but you shouldn't have any more problems going to RC2. Upgrading is super simple (uninstall, reinstall)... all your settings remain.

As for the review, we'd love it. We don't base support on those that review us, so don't feel required too, but it helps spread the word and definitely helps continue our rapid development pace by getting more interest in the product. Thanks!
