No. The Social modules are 3.x only. The newer JFBConnect component uses the new Graph API from Facebook which was released earlier this year. The 2.x version uses the older REST API which does not have support for the social modules. Therefore, we do not anticipate ever releasing the social modules for the 2.x series.
We are still committed to updates and bug-fixes to the 2.x component for the foreseeable future (we just put out a bugfix release yesterday, actually), so leaving your site at 2.x is a viable option. However, you won't be able to use the new social modules. Upgrading to 3.x is meant to be very painless too though, just so you know.
