A Few Issues with New Install

Well now. I must say, you've got us a little stumped there. There's usually a smoking gun, or at least a good lead, but in your case, we can't find one. We can recreate each issue you describe above, but, like you said, only on your site. There's nothing obviously wrong with the output HTML and there's no Javascript errors (in ours or other components which could cause conflicts).

If you wouldn't mind, would you send us a super admin login to your site? We'd install eXtplorer, which is a file browser/editor that we can use to try a modification or 2 to see if it would help.. but unfortunately, right now, we'd need to test a few ideas to determine what's going wrong.

Wanted to follow up quickly. We have been investigating the problem, but don't have much good news to report right now.

We've found that the JFBCInvite module was throwing a javascript error, which is unusual. However, to skip debugging this immediately, we tried simply disabling it. When we do this (try yourself), then when logging in via Chrome or Firefox, we get properly redirected to your home page. However, the page only shows the bottom advertisment banner, and nothing else. This is very strange as the URL is correct, and everything seems correct.

Ideally, from here, we'd like to test with the default Joomla template, rhuk_milkyway, but that's been deleted. This helps eliminate javascript and other coding errors in the template, which is common. The other thing we'd like to try is disabling modules and plugins to see if it will start working, and then determine why that module/plugin is conflicting.

Do you have a development area for this site? We prefer not to do this on 'live' sites, as real users could see some odd behavior.

Please let us know, and if you'd like to try disabling anything to see if you have better results, we'd love to get your feedback. You know your site better, so if there's a heavy javascript module or a plugin that's meant to rewrite content on the page (which could be rewriting something incorrectly), you'd be better off knowing what to try disabling first.
