Hi All,

I have just bought this super facebook connect component for my site (www.abingdongreen.co.uk).

However, I think there might be a fault!! Whenever I try and log in with my facebook account I get the error message: "We were unable to retrieve your Facebook account information. Please try again"

I'm looking to see if anyone would mind testing it out for me and letting me know if it's just a fault at my end or an inherent problem!

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

I'm getting the same message. Can you verify that the plugins are installed and configured correctly by looking at the JFBConnect admin home page? There should be no red "X" next to any of the plugins.

After logging in, your site is appearing in the login box. This usually occurs when there is a configuration error with your Facebook application. Please make sure you follow the installation guide:

Hi There,

I've checked everything I can think of and followed the install guide.... still no dice.

Attached is a screenshot of the overview page...

Cheers

Yup. Looks right from your image. Please message us with an admin account so we can poke around ourselves. We'll switch the API/Secret keys over to a 'known good' test set we have. That way we can tell if your Facebook application, which we don't have access to configure, is setup correctly. If necessary, we'll also install NinjaXplorer to perform some debugging.

This appears fixed now. The issue was with Artio SEF. It was SEF'ing a callback url from Facebook into something that wasn't working. After telling Artio to skip JFBConnect for SEF URL generation, it seems to work properly.

Please test, and let us know if everything's working as expected. We'll create an FAQ about this issue, and investigate allowing SEF URLs within JFBConnect (there's really only one URL created that user's see). If you want a better SEF URL for the registration page, feel free to update Artio to use Joomla's SEF handler on JFBConnect.

Finally, if you're happy with the extension and/or your service and support here, we'd love a review on the JED:

Thanks,
Alex

I'll definately be reviewing on the JED, there's no question of that!!!

I have run into a problem though now I've just tried it... It's throwing up a syntax error:

XFBML Code: 0
Line 31 Char: 261 in the browser on one computer. On my other computer, it goes full page to facebook saying "You must be logged in to Facebook to use this feature."

Weird stuff :-(

I'm not seeing those issues. What browser are you using?

I am however seeing issues with Community Builder not logging the user in because their account isn't confirmed. I'll have to verify that our logic still works with CB set to require approval. I don't know why it would have broken, but if possible, please try to not require email verification (for now), approve the user accounts in CB that you've tried to create through FB, and lemme know what happens. We'll do some investigation on our end as well.

I'll change that setting in CB now...

I got it to work in Google Chrome, but I'm using IE8 on my other machines.

It seems that, for my fb account anyway, that it didn't put the avatar or any data from fb into the cb profile...

Here's the error details that IE is throwing up for reference:

It's after you've entered your fb email address and password. The window suddenly closes, with this error in the main window of the site (little error sign in the bottom left corner).
