Any plans to integrate with (IMHO much superior) Agora Forums? I thought it was odd you use Agora on your own site but made your connector work with Kunena...

We obviously agree it's superior. Last month when we were racing to setup this extension site before CMS Expo, we threw Kunena up as we had used it before and, with the quick timeline, didn't want to play with something new (to us). Then, at CMS Expo we actually met the jVitals guys, loved our conversations and realized that we agree on a lot development and goals-wise. 2 days later, we migrated these forums to Agora!

In short, Agora support is coming to JFBConnect. I don't know the timeline exactly, as we announced that 2.6 would be the last feature release for the 2.x branch while we focus on 3.0 which integrates more, better features from FB's new API.

Keep checking back, and we'll note this as one user who wants Agora support. Thanks!

Just discovered JFBConnect, and it's awesome, exactly what I was looking for, just one question before I get my partners to buy in, and just making sure because I've searched the forum and this is all that came up (I have looked at your configuration support as well). I'm assuming that with me being able to post this message on this Agora forum after logging in with Facebook Connect, that you have now included Agora, and not just Kunena?

Wow, this is an old post. There's 2 answers to the question. Yes, and no.

The yes is that JFBConnect creates a standard Joomla user that every extension treats just like any user who registers normally. Therefore, when you register through Facebook and JFBConnect, you can create a post like any registered user can in Agora (or any other component) without any modifications to those extensions.

The no is that JFBConnect still does not import the avatar or profile into Agora. We're working on the 3.1 release of JFBConnect, which implements a new plugin system which will allow for adding integration to different components much easier in the future (and allows other developers to create them for custom extensions or ones that we haven't specifically targeted yet). Agora is one of the first of the plugins (outside of CB, JS, and Kunena) that we'll be releasing.

3.1 is currently in development, and we're shooting to have it out by the end of this month.

Hope that helps answer your question!

Yes, there is! You tested it out just by registering on this site.. your avatar was pulled straight into Agora. We don't import other information from Facebook on this site (interests, etc), but the ability is there in JFBConnect.

Hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, let us know!
