JFBConnect provides multiple options to configure Facebook's social widgets: Modules, Content Plugin, and Custom Tags. You can read more about what social content Facebook provides on Facebook's Social Plugin page.
Modules are easy ways to insert the social widgets into your site using available module positions in your template.
The following modules are available: JFBCLike, JFBCSend, JFBCComments, JFBCFan, JFBCFeed, JFBCRecommendations, JFBCSubscribe, JFBCRequest, JFBCFriends, JFBCLiveStream, SCLogin.
If you want to use the social modules, read on. If not, proceed to the next step. Note: Installing the modules are not necessary if you want to use the JFBConnect Easy-Tags (e.g. {JFBCLike}) or the content plugin to display social widgets automatically in your content.
1) All of the social modules can be found in the "Modules" folder of the main JFBConnect package you downloaded from this site.
2) Simply use the "Extensions->Install/Uninstall" or "Extensions->Extension Manager" menu item in the administration area. Use the "Upload Package File" section, select the desired modules' zip files unzipped from step #1 (example: mod_jfbclike_j2.5_v5.0.0.zip), and click "Upload File & Install". Note: installing all of the modules is likely not necessary for your site, so choose the appropriate ones to install.
3) Next, navigate to the Modules area by going to "Extensions->Module Manager". You will need to enable the desired JFBConnect modules.
4) Configure each module to customize the view and behavior of the module.
The Like button lets users share pages from your site back to their Facebook profile with one click.
The Send Button allows your users to easily send your content to their friends.
The Comments plugin lets users comment on any piece of content on your site.
The Like Box enables users to like your Facebook Page and view its stream directly from your website.
The Activity Feed plugin shows users what their friends are doing on your site through likes and comments.
The Recommendations plugin gives users personalized suggestions for pages on your site they might like.
The Subscribe plugin lets users subscribe to your public updates on Facebook.
The Request plugin lets users send requests to their friends on Facebook. You can set up the request link to be an image or a text link.
The Facepile plugin displays the Facebook profile pictures of users who have liked your page or have signed up for your site.
The Login Button shows profile pictures of the user's friends who have already signed up for your site in addition to a login button. (When logged in, a logout button can be optionally shown)
