I have got the SCL login wortking well on all browsers except Internet Explorer. A lot of my customers use IE so it's important I can get it working. The popup box shows up and when I click login it takes me to Joomla login page. Here is the URL - www.kitlocker.com/afc1/

Can you let me know what version of IE you're using? We test with IE8+ and know of many users with IE7 that have the SCLogin module working just fine.

Also, are you using 2 factor authentication plugins on your site? If so, can you unpublish them, temporarily, and see if that fixes the problem? That will help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

I am using IE8 and also I seem to be having a problem on Google chrome as well. It only seems to be working fine on Firefox. Can you please explain what 2 factor authentication is? As I've never heard of it before.

I'm sorry for the delayed response. You don't look to have the SCLogin module enabled on your page anymore. I'm not sure if you switched to something else. If there's anything more we can help with, please let us know what page we should be looking at, and we'll gladly investigate however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

My apologies. I have changed it back now. I just changed it to do some testing. The url - www.kitlocker.com/afc1/ and is in the header top-right. Works perfectly on Firefox, just doesn't work on IE or Chrome. Once I click login and login into the website it fires me to the Joomla login page.

Thanks for changing it back.

I just created an account on the site "testtest" and activated. After that, I couldn't login using the SCLogin module as you noted. However, on the Login page that I was redirected to, I couldn't login on that page either. It seems like the standard login functionality isn't working as I'd expect, which is likely the problem.

Another thing I can see is that the normal system messages aren't being displayed on your site. Normally, if you enter an incorrect username/password combination, a notice comes up stating that the credentials entered were incorrect. On your site, there's no message. That message is generated by Joomla, but shown by your template. Your template likely is missing the system messages note.

That note would be very helpful to see as it may state that the account hasn't been activated, the password is wrong, or some other information about why the login was not successful.

I hope that helps explain some things and narrow down the possible problem. If the standard Joomla login page is working for you, let me know. For us, it isn't.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you Alex. However, I have added the normal joomla login and I can login fine which is very strange. Seen as it a test website. I might do a clean installation and install the extension again as you are saying it might be a problem with Joomla. I will get back to you on if it works or not.

Sam,
I'm not sure either. Yesterday, when I was testing, the login page of your site (index.php?option=com_users&view=login) wasn't working for me. Now it is. I'm not sure what's happening. It's possible I had a beer too many, so not saying it's you or your site. If you decide to re-enable the SCLogin module, please do so on a page with the mod_login (standard Joomla Login module). With those on the same page, we can compare the output HTML and determine what's different.

Thanks,
Alex
