The next major feature release of JFBConnect is coming along very well and planned for next month. While in development, we realized we already had over 30 enhancements, improvements to JomSocial Facebook integration, bug-fixes and our new Enhanced Joomla Login module ready to go. We decided we wanted these improvements in our user's hands as soon as possible, so we released v5.0.1 late last week.
Don't let the .1 fool you, this release is packed with improvements. v5.0.0 was released back in February and has been an incredibly popular, and stable, version. However, with any software, there were some minor bugs, changes in Facebook, and some little things that needed some finesse. While we were implementing all the major changes in v5.1 (read below for more information), we realized that we had more than enough for an interim release. By releasing v5.0.1 now, you can get your hands on these great improvements and it makes the upcoming feature release easier to manage.
For all the updates, see our Changelog, or read the highlights below.
The biggest new feature in this release is the inclusion of our Enhanced Joomla Login module. The new SCLogin module is much easier to configure, more powerful with built-in horizontal and vertical layouts, and more flexible with the Modal popup view. If you haven't already, see the full SCLogin Announcement Blog post for more information.
Beyond that, we really began overhauling our JomSocial integration in preparation for the upcoming JomSocial 3.0 release. That's going to be a huge release and will integrate seamlessly with JFBConnect. Within JFBConnect, the separate "FB Wall - JomSocial" (jfbcjsactivity) plugin is no longer required as the post-to-Facebook functionality is now a part of the JomSocial Profile plugin.

JFBConnect is used on tens-of-thousands of sites, so people run into all sorts of issues we don't anticipate. This release fixes a lot of issues regarding Open Graph settings, Facebook Comments in responsive templates, and lots more pesky issues. Most bugs don't affect many of our users, but of if you've had any problems, v5.0.1 will likely fix you up.
JFBConnect v5.1 is well underway and we're super excited to get it in your hands. The big features are:
